Someone Is Watching Me?

 Hey everyone!

I know I told you I'll be updating my old FF first. But as you also know I'm currently having writer's block, due to which I'm unable to write continued part of my old FF.

I've not abandon any of my stories, its just I'm taking little time and struggling to write. Its challenging for me to write continued part of my old FF's.

So please bear with me, till I fully recover from writer's block.

This new story is part of my brainstorming.

This is not any new idea that I got.

This is my dream that I'm getting daily from 6th October 2013 and it creeps me a lot.

This dream is disturbing me a lot, because the girl in my dream is me and this is my story.

But Piya will tell you my story in her POV.

Someone Is Watching Me?

7th October 2013, 20:50 PM.

Dear Diary,

Did you ever felt that someone is watching you?
I know it is a stupid question. You are not even a living being, then how can you feel?
Right now, I’m so desperate that I can’t even tell you how I felt when I realised that someone was watching me.
But is it even possible that someone is watching me?
You know Diary, mom always used to tell me that Mumbai city is the safest place in our country.
I always felt the samething, but since yesterday, I’m scared and feel so stalkerish.
I cannot even tell my mom what happened with me and I can’t even tell this to anyone, because it creeps me and it scares the hell out of me.
I never felt like this before because I thought no one really cares here. Moreover, to be honest it is true. There is no one cares about anyone.
Infact, I always thought no one would even look at me. Because I’m not beautiful or even sexy. Hell, I’m not even slim like any sexy slim ladies, then why anyone will be interested in me?
Dear Diary, I know you may wonder why I’m telling you this?
But you are the only who will listen to me, without even talking to me. Moreover, I do not have to shut your mouth to tell you what I think.
I never believed I’m beautiful, even though lot of mom’s friends and my own friends told me that I look nice, but that’s the only compliment I ever get. They never tell me that I’m beautiful, because they know I’m average looking and I’m little plum and my body is little curve too. Hell, I even have a weakness and that is my stupid short height. Then why anyone will take interest in me?
I’m twenty three years old and I’m not even kissed yet. Hell, I do not even have a boyfriend and not ever gone on date. Did that surprise you?
But it didn’t surprise me. As I told you before, no one really took interest in me.
I know again you must be wondering, if I don’t have a boyfriend, I’ve not been kissed, I’m plump, I’m not beautiful and I have not ever gone on a date then how can I be so sure that someone is watching me?
Am I right?
This is what you must be wondering?
I wish I could physically take you to the flashback and show you the incident that happened with me yesterday.
Hell, I’m still in shock and I can’t believe that some creepy guy can watch me.
But damn, I don’t even know who is watching me and who has his eyes on my every movement.
I just heard his voice on phone and never met him.
But the thing is, he did something yesterday that not only shocked me, but made me feel guilty and made me think twice, Someone is Watching me?

A/N: As you know this is a short story and this story will end within 4-5 updates. Because this is part of my dream, as long as this creepy dreams keeps following me, I'll keep updating it.

PS: This is my dream and the girl is me, but this is definitely abhiya story as Piya will play a character of me, but I don't know the faceless guy of my dream who was very creepy, but his character will be played by Abhay, because he did something that shocked me. So yup Abhay is definitely him.

PPS: If you wonder why I wrote that Diary part, then let me tell you I've habit of writing diary, but in that diary I only write important incident of my life which I don't want to forget ever. Because I've forgetful memory, due to which this diary keeps a track record of my unforgettable incident. My dream is one of those incident that I don't want to forget. Because, it reminds me that someone is there who cares for me.

I also like to know your view about this story.

New Update

"The man in the street is always a stranger."
-Mason Cooley

(PART-2)

Aadhira and I sat in her silver Zen car. She sat in the driver's seat with her seat belts, and I followed her.
I could see she was absolutely in a not-so-talking mood. She started driving the car as if she is merely a driver of mine, and I am her master. Well, it seems funny, but she acted like that.
-
-
-
"Aadhira…?" I finally voiced, after a long gap of silence. Air-conditioner in her car was on, due to which I felt cold, and all the windows were close. I tried to look outside, but it was too dark and engine of the vehicles surrounded by our car were roaring. We were not in traffic. Car was still moving, but those car drivers from back and forth, nagging unnecessarily.

In the car, atmosphere turned peaceful. I wrapped my arms against my chest, but my body felt paralysis as if froze in cold. Aadhira was not retorting to me at all. Her eyes glued ahead, watching white Mahindra car and black Honda city that were moving slowly in front.

Aadhira pressed horn button in the spokes, and the noise buzzed in my ear due to which my body shook and I saw myself normal. I told Aadhira to stop horning, but she frowned facing me.

"Please talk to me? Why are you ignoring me?" I begged as guilt of non-pleasure trolls my throat. I noticed she was doing this purposely, but I had no such intention to upset or disregard her sentiments while talking to mom.

"Just as you did-" She paused. That is the only sentence she mouthed, showing her disbelief in me. Her eyes settle in front.

"Ok now. I'm sorry." I forced myself to express those apologizing words.
I felt ashamed for ignoring her. However, that moment, I yearned to talk only with mom, and it was not something immoral I did.

She observed me, but her chocolaty eyes passionately burned in fire. She lastly tightened her lips and spread out her mouth to speak, "why did you talk like that with aunty?" My mouth widely opened, and for a moment, my head failed to grasp her words. My face busy giving shocking expression and eyes almost popped out hearing her words.

"Is she not angry because of ignoring thing?" A voice in my head prompted forwarding powerful alarm that shuddered through body, and my lips seemed sour.

Wait… there is a misunderstanding.

"You were not talking to me because I was rude with mom?" I stared in dismay. She raised her eyes nodding and tilting her head towards my side and then looked again in front.

"What made you think that I was rude to her?" I asked directly. She gazed at me while driving the car.
"You should have asked her before attempting any preparation for Nihaal's birthday." Her voice suppressed in her throat and there was a disappointment climbed in her tone.

"Aadhira, I think you are over-reacting. I am absolutely sure mom had no such problems with birthday preparations." I said assuredly, yet puzzlement rose in my voice.
"You didn't notice her. But I did. She was sad." My mouth loosely opened hearing her remarks.

It is odd that I did not notice this. However, arranging my husband's birthday is not something awry. I had taken approval from mom, before I even began with Nihaal's birthday preparation, but that moment, she did not say anything and was pleased to know that his thirtieth birthday would be grand. Then why so change of behavior now?

Before I could open my mouth to say anything, Aadhira put break and the car stopped abruptly.

I would have felled in front towards the front-view window, but my seat belt protected me.

"What the hell-" I yelled when Aadhira interjected me.
She told me to look outside the window. Her face had a horrifying reaction, and the sweat from her forehead made her more restless. I opened the window and saw one old man standing in a bending position with a stick near the car headlights, shaking hands to stop the car and pleading for help with the tears in his eyes that were dropping non-stop.

Aadhira and I opened the car door and stamped outside. The old man was bleeding and the bruise visible on his forehead, chin and his forearms. His cheeks were bloated.

The blood was non-stop dripping from his forehead and a few drops fell on the stony ground, his white stained shirt was full of blood, as if someone had beaten him miserably.

He came forward towards me, asking to rescue him.

He said shivering, "please help?" His eyes were red and swollen. He continued shivering, "goons are following me. Please help-" He stuttered. His face and stained collar were sweating. My gazes crossed his face to look at his back, but the entire road was empty.

Since, I had to reach home on time, so Aadhira had taken the short cut from the forest-side road where both sides of the roadway encircled with giant trees and gloominess. Maybe that is why, entire lane lived void, but I could not see goons either. Most likely, they might be hiding after scanning us.

I went closer to him, along with Aadhira. Even though his hand was bleeding and the smell of blood gave an irrational feeling of vomiting that attacked my throat but I swallowed powerlessly. He looked very weak as lot of blood drained from his body. He is thinner in size.

Aadhira and I courageously placed his hands on our shoulders and gave him the support to walk until backseat.

We slide him inside. He pulled my forearm and squeezed in fear, with his blooded hands. He told me not to leave him alone. His face gave me the expression of frightens. For a moment, even I could feel horror in me as the sweat rolled on my face, and my stomach fluttered in uneasiness.

Aadhira moved towards the driver seat and drive's car in the direction of hospital. I told her to drive fast, as this old man was closely half-fainted. I could see his dark eyes, were being shut little by little, yet awake. He has lower cheekbones that were puffed up.
Aadhira hurriedly said that we would reach the hospital in five minutes. Hearing this, old man right away opened his eyes widely, as if he got shocked.

He expressed frightfully, "no-no"
As he looked at me, he stammered, "plea-please no hospital."
I raised my eyes in shock, hearing his pleading.

I voiced worriedly, "You are injured."
He shouted but in a lower tone, as his throat did not permit him to mouth louder, but I could feel the cramp in his voice. It was unusually more than hearable.
The old man felt terrified of goons and the way he reciprocated, I could assume he was not favorable to obey.

I informed him about my husband, who is a Senior Police inspector, and he would help him doubtlessly. However, he did not consider my words strongly. He sticks to his point and pleaded for not taking him to the hospital.

The old man has crossed his sixty-five and the wrinkles everywhere on his pale chocolaty face were visible. His head was bald on top, whereas his backside has little hair, which is grey. He even had a stick in his hand, which I'd kept aside, near the window seat.

The old man rested on his head against the car seat headrest. He had taken my hand in his hand, and the grip was tighter. Even though, his eyes were close, but his curved ear was open and tiny puffed up. I could see fresh blood dripping on his shoulder, from his earlobe.

I tried to wipe that blood with my free hand, but that blood stuck on my four fingers, except the thumb and his covered shoulder became more stainful.

Aadhira exclaimed, "Hospital is arrived." She stopped the car, and the break clash cracked in my ear.

I woke that old man, but he was not getting up. I patted on his bloated cheeks, but he did not react.
I felt sweat heaving on my forehead and wrestled to fall down on my cheeks. More than scared, I felt worriedness on my face. I placed my head on his left chest to hear his heartbeat.
Luckily, his heart was working in good condition, and the beats were normal.

Suddenly, my head shook as his body shook hopelessly.

"What happened?" He asked cryfully. The sweat visible under his wrinkled eyes started rolling like tears.
"Hospital has come." I breathed leaning on his face.
He yelled shakily and replied in a sinister way, "I told you, I didn't want to go to the hospital."
"But why…?" I asked confusingly.
He replied shakily, "goo-goons" He stammered and continued, "Pro-per-ty" at last term he fainted.

I tried to wake him, but he didn't. He gave two hints, goons and property. One fact is much clear. Goons were behind his property.

If this is real, then a massive misfortune is awaiting for this old man.
Aadhira was waiting outside the car, so that I may convince this old man and take him to the hospital for his treatment.

I had no choice, except taking him to the hospital.

He was already fainted and there was no other alternate for Aadhira and me.

We dragged this old man outside and took him to the General hospital. This hospital is fifteen minutes away from the shopping mall in Santacruz west.

The old man looked like, as if he had bathed in blood. His half-sleeve white shirt and his brown pant had the stains of blood everywhere.

I was half-bathed in blood. My forehead, one-cheek, hands and half-dress stained in blood.
Aadhira's hand and cheek had the stain of blood. Her net sleeves had little blood near her one arm.

We took that old man inside near the reception counter. I told the receptionist it is an emergency case, so we need doctor.
However, that woman appeared like a nurse. She was wearing pink nurse uniform with a small nurse cap on her bun. She was standing in the reception counter. She commanded to wait, as there are other patients too, who needs urgent treatment.

I yelled and threatened that woman, if she doesn't inform the doctor, then I'll ruin the reputation of the hospital in tomorrow's news telecast, as I am the crime reporter of Roz-Tak news channel.

She raised her eyes in shock and hurriedly sprinted to call the doctor. The lobby area of hospital was peaceful, although many people were sauntering from one place to another, still barely, I could hear the noise from anyone. Except, a few who were the relatives of the patients, and I could hear the whimpering sound. As I looked at them, I saw one female dead body on the stretcher that was few inches away from my way, and a woman, apparently her relative was sobbing.

The entire atmosphere turned into negativity for my mind, and I felt uneasy surrounded by my body. I could barely feel anything, until doctor appeared in front of me and shook my body.

Aadhira and I were already desperate and impatient, as the old man's blood was not blocking. It was constantly dripping from his forehead. On the other side, the crying noise of that woman was distressing for me. My heart unexpectedly felt unstable and vulnerable.

Doctor had a stethoscope around his neck, wearing white doctor coat from outside, pink plain shirt with full sleeves, visible above his chest and his black loose pant, along with brown buckled sandal. He also has specs in his eyes. His skin is pale white and taller than Aadhira and me.

He told Aadhira and me to put that old man on the stretcher. We made him lay on the stretcher. He was still unconscious but in sleep, he mumbled, "No hospital." He repeated unconsciously, until I rubbed his one arm.

Doctor grabbed his wrist and examined his nerves. He then examined his wounds on his face, his eyes and the blood that were dripping from his forehead and earlobe. The old man's face turned red and puffy.

He asked patiently, "Was he beaten few minutes back?" I indicated by nodding.
He gazed at his wounds and the blood, plus he retorted glancing at me, "the wound and the blood are fresh." I again nodded.

He huskily said, "This is the police case."

"I know that doctor." I replied recklessly, but a drift of anger flashed on my own face.
"We can't treat him. Please inform police first." At the end, he was about to turn his back from my side, but I stopped him.

"Doctor, my husband is senior police inspector. I have informed him. He will be over here at any time. Please you start with the treatment." I lied convincingly. However, my voice had a mini range of pleading.

He tightened his eyes and reacted unbelievably, "if your husband is police inspector, let him come here and tell me. Then I will start with the treatment." At the end, I groaned.

"Look, doctor it will take some time for him to come here. I am telling you to start with his treatment." I answered impatiently watching and pointing an index finger at the fainted old man, who still excessively bleeding and doctor possess no sympathy for him.

"Sorry, but this is impossible. It is the rule of our hospital, and we cannot go against it." He raised his eyes and replied with an attitude in his husky voice.

"Is the hospital regulation more important than human life? If so-" I paused and waited glancing at his expression. He simply nodded and I began thinking regarding the solution.

When my head signaled with an idea, I convincingly questioned, "fine. I will make you talk to him on the phone. If he tells you to start his treatment, are you going to do it?" He nods his head.

"If your husband tells me that I can start with his treatment, I will do it." Doctor pointed forefinger towards old man and replied firmly by giving a crocked smile.

One thing I can undoubtedly tell about this doctor, he is emotionless and has no empathy for his patients. I am certainly going to destroy his reputation through my news channel and let everyone know that such kind of doctors too lives in our country, where more than human's life, they are worried about police investigation and their hospital regulations.

I looked at Aadhira, who had worriedness on her face. She gazed at old man's blood that dripped towards his palm from his forearm.
I commanded her not to worry and stand near the old man. I walked towards the corridor and dialed Nihaal's number on my touchscreen display. I certainly became impatient, when his phone rang, but he did not pick my call.

I was already in an upset mood, and Nihaal undoubtedly engaged with his surprising thing. I checked my wristwatch it was seven forty-five p.m. at night.

My heartbeat began pumping faster, and throat felt up dryness. I called Nihaal many times, but he did not pick the call. Even, Aditiya was not picking his phone.

There was no other alternate, so I called at the landline number. However, that too was simply ringing.

"What's happening? Why he is not picking call at landline too?" I mumbled.
My face had a sign of perspiration. I realize Nihaal and Aditiya engaged in organizing a surprise for me. But why they are not picking my calls?

Is their phone inaudible? If so, what should I do now?

How must I influence this doctor to do treatment first? I am distressed.

My heart thumped in my throat. A mini sensation in my stomach fluttered in nervousness.

I have no clue what will happen to this old man.

Will Nihaal and Aditiya call me back? If so, when?

I felt like defeated.

My head is frozen, and no idea is popping to save this old man.

It is very unbelievable that I am losing hope.

My heart is already feeling the pain of sourness.

I am thunderstruck.

What should I inform to doctor now? Moreover, Aadhira who is disturbed for that old man, what should I say to her?

Will that old man die?

So many questions straight away exploded into my head. I baffled as no answers could arise in my head. I felt dizziness, and my pulse rate increased while racing with my throat to jump off from my mouth.

I don't want to be held responsible for that old man's death.

New Update

"The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity."
-Leo Tolstoy

(PART-1)

Mom fluttered her eyelids as she saw Aadhira is coming, she whispered leaning towards her table, "Now don't talk in front of her." I nodded giving an urgent look on her face.

"What are you both chatting?" Aadhira asked grinning at us and sitting on her chair.
"Nothing, we were discussing about shopping-" I responded when she interfered.
"What did you discuss about shopping?" Her folded hands wrapped arms, relaxing against the table.
"We have to buy clothes for Aditiya too."
"Oh!" Her speech turned absolute lower, anyway I could not listen, but I speculated from her lip tendency.

Mom and I ultimately ended consuming food, and we proceeded together in the washroom. There was no one standing inside the washroom. Everything was hollow. The floor was clean and white tiles splendid on the wall. There were three attached toilets in the washroom, and the doors were close. It was overly pinned drop silence.

We washed off our hands in the clean washbasin, and mom commanded to wait with her, as she wished to discuss something. I wrapped my arms against my chest and paused until she winds up. She began gargling her mouth and wiped her hand and face with a blue handkerchief, then she glanced at me.

"Mom… I'm waiting…" I at last voiced absurdly.

She gazed and spread out her mouth, "whatever I ask you, you have to be sincere with your answer." I bowed but there was a cautionary indication in her volume as if she is planning to ask something very confidential, may be high alarm for me.

"Are you happy with Nihaal?" I astonishingly gazed on her face.

What a question? This was not something I predicted.

"Mom, why all of sudden-" She interrupted lifting her hand and showing her palm towards me.
"Just answer, what I asked." She wailed as I nodded.
"Yes!" I replied firmly.

"Have you planned to change your mind…?" her tone unexpectedly became very heedful when her eyes rolled from one side to another, as if something is going in her mind, and she doesn't want anyone else to hear it.

"Hmm what should I change?" I confusingly gazed.
She tilted her head towards my ear and hissed, "Naina just three more months left…" Her breathe warmed my earlobe.

I sweated hearing her words and realized what she was talking about…

It is about our separation. I had filed a petition of divorce within first three months of our marriage. However, court disapproved of my petition, as according to the law, I cannot file a divorce before one year. Since, I was not pleased with our married life and convinced my lawyer to talk with judge.

Judge gave me six-month duration to re-think about my decision as he thought that I took a hasty decision, and my reaction about married life been undeveloped.

Nihaal persuaded me, so I gave second chance to our dead marriage. I, in fact, unremembered my divorce, because Nihaal kept his promise, and he is now a changed man.

I looked at mom with a tear in my eyes, dripping on my cheek.

"Mom, still three months left. I have not thought about it." I complaint but my voice surprisingly sour, as it is stabbing my chest even to imagine that I have to go far away from him.

I love him so much that it is hard to express in words. He loves me too, and in fact, more than I do. However, commitment towards his police duty, flopped our marriage. It is difficult for both of us to go far off from each other, now thinking about three extra months is just like a lifetime agreement about to expire, and God's arrival is not far away to take me away from Nihaal.

"I know that, but I don't want you to give any false hope to my son. He is very sensitive when it comes to you, so if you have determined to move on, tell him. Before it's too late…" She spoke uninterruptedly.

Her warning type of remarks gave an irrational grief in my heart and a negative vibrant passed through my body shuttered me inside out.

Mom is right, as I have to think about it. He will be doing so much hard work to give me surprise, to make me smile and to save our failed marriage. In return, what can I give him? Maybe nothing, except my love and my existence that meant only for him.

"Naina?" mom called my name by suspending my thoughts.
"Yes?" I replied.

"I know it's a tough decision. But, you have to do it. I don't want my son to be heart-broken." I swallowed and nodded hearing her words, but my throat missed to respond her back. I could feel tears inside my eyes that prepared to jump out again, but I did not allow them to wrestle.

"I have to become strong. I cannot cry and take a hasty decision." A voice in my head reminded me to be courageous. However, there was another intense voice inside my heart, who was forcing me not to leave Nihaal.
But my head alerted me that if I don't leave him, I'd be heart-broken.

Maybe, I am self-centred. But where did I mistaken? It was not my mistake, due to which our marriage collapsed. Nihaal always was a rough and tough cop. For him, his priority was towards his people, towards city, towards his country. I became last in his priority list.

I could see how mom was observing me, as she was annoyed and very depressive. Whatever she said was not wrong. After all, Nihaal is her only son. She cannot see him upset too.

As she saw, that I was not uttering at all and emotionally abstracted. She ceased my thoughts, and nudged me towards her.

"Let's go…" She said by picking her big leather bag that was lying on the flat surface of washbasin, and placed on her shoulder.
Her voice was weak and eyes peeked down, on the floor. However, I could see she was trying hard to escape from the situation that we both were facing in the washroom.

We both walked out of the washroom and sat in our chair without looking at each other.

"You both were sleeping or what?" Aadhira jokingly said. She possibly could notice tension on our face but there was nothing to giggle.

"Come on smile please?" She stretched her index finger and thumb close to her lip, and it became widely visible without showing her teeth.
She winked and replied widening her eyes, "I was joking…"

I gave an artificial smile to her, as I was not really in the state of mind to smile. Mom gave an unopened smile, just for the sake of not offending Aadhira's emotions.

"Why you both are upset? Is there something wrong?" Aadhira expressed.

Mom shook her head towards me and signalized blinking her eyes, not to say anything. Then she looked at Aadhira giving a forged smile, and replied, "Nothing. We were just talking."

Aadhira faced up to me and engaged in looking into my eyes as if she is trying to search what particularly I have hided from her. However, I am sharper in covering any stuff, except emotions. She grabs all my emotions undoubtedly. I tried to roll my eyes on another side, but failed miserably. I felt complete ashamed looking at Aadhira's undergoing doubtful expression.

"Are you going to tell me what happened?" Aadhira sent a strict powerful loudness towards my direction. It was like an electric current she tried to throw via her words, and I shook my body.

"Really nothing, we were talking about Nihaal." I played with my fingers against the counter, and a noise struck my ear.

She nodded and asked, "What were you talking?"

I felt humiliating to voice in front of mother-in-law and complaint about her. However, mom is very sugary and a dear friend to both of us. But, she previously warned me.

Looking at the Aadhira's curiosity, finally mom granted me to speak by intimating with her blinked eyes.

"We were discussing about the divorce." I whispered. She nodded and said softly, "I'm listening. You continue..."

"Mom said I should take a decision about our separation." She gazed at mom.

Mom's expression looked awkward, but she restrained her emotions by watching at another side. She slanted above the table with her knuckles under chin and elbow resting on the table.

"Aunty is right…" Aadhira responded by gazing at mom and giving a wide smile with her open lips.
However, by looking at her approval, I could see a sigh of relief passing through mom's face as her eyes shortly hunt at Aadhira's eyes.

"So you think I should take a decision fast?" I asked frustratedly. She nodded.
"You must take a decision, before time run outs…" She revealed.

Her words sent a forbidden message to my head, which sank to grasp.

What does she mean by that? Time run outs? I could not penetrate what particularly she wished to provoke.
I bashed to refrain from this matter wholly, as everything for me right now turned into a puzzled game.

Moms signal and Aadhira's unexpressed words made me impassive, and I halted the conversation right here.

We paid the bills of our lunch and walked out of the restaurant. I remember about Aditiya's shopping. Therefore, we went back on third floor, here in two stores, there were some casual outfits that would suit on Aditiya. We checked those outfits, since mom familiarizes with Aditiya's size so according to that, she purchased outfits for him.

We then started with our shopping. It was too hectic, because there were so many stores that had good designer dresses for me. We went in one store that was not much crowded and many salwar suits hanged on their walls, and others were in their shelves.

I choose five dresses for me. Aadhira chooses three and for mom, we had to go in the saree store. She likes only sarees. We were on third floor, near a saree store. The whole showroom was jammed, and a lot people were busy with their talks and screams while trying out the sarees. Most of the women came with their family.

We went at the vacant counter, where mom asked the man to show the Banaras saree. That man showed the trended Banaras saree to her, she did not like. Her sarees are very sober, and she will not prefer embroidered shining design.

He showed a few different designer Banaras saree, but that man flunked to influence mom, and we had to go to another store.

"Mom, why do you want only Banaras saree…? Why not any other sarees?" I asked impatiently while we were moving up through escalator stairs.

She laughed and calmly replied, "I want to wear Banaras saree on my son's birthday."

"But why only Banaras…?" I could feel disappointment in my own words. We were now on fourth floor and only one saree store was detectable to the left side of my eyes.

We were walking towards that store, at that moment. I saw a glow on the mom's face as her cheeks turned up. She was blushing.

She opened her mouth and said, "When first time I got the pregnancy news I was in my Banaras saree." I gave her a baffling look, but she did not stop. She continued with her emotional story, "The delivery day, I was again in Banaras saree." I scowled.
However, she continued with a big smile on her face. She became very emotional while talking, "Nihaal's first birthday-" I interrupted.

"You were on Banaras saree?" I mocked. She nodded with a closed-lips smile, and her eyes had tears that were steadily dripping down her cheeks.

She smiled and rubbed her cheeks. Her tears soaked, "since then, on his every birthday, I wear Banaras saree-" She paused and looked at me for an immediate reaction.

My face was blank, but I could feel how much emotive she is for her son. Maybe considering that he is the only son to her, just as I am, for my parents.

Before I could voice anything, she lengthy her sensitive story, "you know Naina, every year before his marriage, I used to celebrate his birthday alone. No noise, no office colleagues, just Nihaal, Aditiya and me." She said by showing her curved fingers making it look like a tiny gap between four fingers and a bent thumb.

Her head leaned towards her fingers, still looking at me through her tiny holed fingers and continued with her story, "but now since he is married and you both are living together. His choice is changed." I felt disrespectful in her words.

Does she mean that since I came in his life, or we married that is why he is gone far away from her? However, that is not true. He still talks to his mom and meets in her house. It was her own decision that we must live together, and she will not stay with us.

Then why unexpectedly taunt?

We were now inside the store and here there were fewer crowds, and many counters were vacant. We went in one empty counter, and mom told that man to show the Banaras sarees.

Aadhira did not like her handpicked of variety as she saw that mom is opting for a boring shade saree. Mom begged her to select one for her. Aadhira picks golden yellow pure silk light-weighted sober embroidered saree with woven coin butties and contrast pink woven border and pallu. It comes with matching silk stitched round neck blouse with similar border on 7 inches long sleeves, which even mom liked it.

She informed the man, to pack that saree for her. Then we went in another counter, where she was still busy sorting out one. I rolled my eyes towards another side, where I saw a couple of women trying out different sarees in front of unusual large-sized mirrors that were facing them. I could see the reflection of those women as they were trying out saree...
Some of them were wheatish and healthy-looking women. Two women were slender like me but have white skin, one shorter than me and bulky like Aadhira, but she has dusky skin.

"Pack these two." I heard those honest words rising from the mom's mouth.
"Finished?" I asked to confirm. Mom gesticulated.
She paid the bill, and we left that store. I felt drained as our shopping finally ended. I saw my wristwatch it was seven-fifteen p.m. We were moving down through escalator stairs.

"Mom…?" I desperately said from her backside. Mom was standing in front with Aadhira. She turned back at me and replied, "Huh? What happened?"

"You didn't continue your story?" she pats on her head and grins.
By now, we were on the third floor, and going on second floor from escalator stairs.

"You want to hear?" I nod my head. She smiled stretching her lips and showing her small pale yellow teeth.
This time her face had no reflection of emotions, but continued in a slow motion, "every year on his birthday, I wear Banaras saree-" I interfered to stop her.

"No, not that part…" She mournfully watched me, and a trace of puzzlement trolled her face.
"Then which…?"
"Why did you say that Nihaal's preference is changed?" Her eyes were actively moving here and there but were not committed to looking into my eyes.
"Because he is changed…" She retorted in soreness. I shook my head.

"No mom. He still loves you." I revealed immediately.
She laughed ragging, "I know that, Naina. I never said he doesn't love me." I glared neglectfully.

"Then why did you talk about preference?" I narrowed my eyes and hesitated to gaze at her, but then I wanted to know her answer.
"Every year he celebrated his birthday with me. Since now you are there, he will spend his birthday with you, not with me." I chuckled hearing her words.

"Oh! So will you attend the celebration?" I asked humorally. She inclined towards me.

"Ofcourse, I'll be there. Still his birthday will not be according to my choice." Her voice unexpectedly had a sign of suffocation and a guilt of non-pleasure caught her breathe.
She voiced under her breath, "It's a grand birthday, not a simple one that I love." I jerked my lip shakily hearing her ridiculous words.

"Well mom, your son is now turning thirty. Atleast this birthday should be stupendous." I revealed raising my eyebrow.  She chuckled.

"Ofcourse, I did not say that. But I told you that this birthday, everything was of your choice." I nodded griefly.

"So you want the birthday according to your choice?" She widened her eyes and then shook her neck.

"You are his wife. You have rights to celebrate as you want." She indirectly criticized.
"You will come to his birthday no?" I asked tactfully. She bowed.
"Good!" I finally breathed out.

At the end of our conversation, I saw myself walking towards the exit door. I did not realize that we ultimately reached down. We were so engaged in our discussion that I did not notice Aadhira. Though, as I detect her presence, I observed her intensity of getting bored with our talk. Her face manifested as if we have to side lined her, and she did not even exist for us.

The time arrived to say good-bye to my mother-in-law. She was beneficial in picking dresses for me, and casuals for Nihaal. I embraced her tightly before exiting from the mall.

"I can give you lift, if you want?" Mom expressed courteously.

Mom has her car, and she knows driving. Well Nihaal scholarly in driving from her, and so he is a smooth driver. All fame goes to his mom as he constantly repeated to me.

"Aadhira and I will go, thanks mom." I extended my hand to shake it with her, and clasped her in my arms to give friendly embracing. She pats on my back.
I temporary donated all my shopping bags to keep it safe with her, so that Nihaal should not trace that we are giving him surprise birthday party.

I saw mom traveling in her yellow Nano car. Aadhira and I waved our hands as she passed from our direction. She waved from her car, giving a closed-lips smile while sitting in her driver seat with the seat belt on her shoulder visible.

New Update

"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness."
-Honor de Balzac

"Other arrangements are done?" She baffled. I nodded.
"You have already informed caterer, right?" I laughed. I could see a thrill on her face when she uttered.
"Mom, relax. All arrangements are fulfilled. Only shopping part is left. We will do that today…"

"I think we should carry on with our shopping?" Aadhira interrupted. I nodded tilting my head towards her side, as she positioned neighboring to me.

We proceeded on second floor. There was a gent's wear store. We all three went inside that store, to look for casual wears for Nihaal.
We saw some different shirts, pants but none of them could suit him. After all, it is his thirtieth birthday, I do not want anything dull for his birthday, and this surprise shopping is for him. His birthday is in two days, which will mean day-after tomorrow.
Everything else completed with the exclusion of our shopping. This shopping is not only for him, but also for mom, Aadhira and me.

We travelled across several stores on other floors and finally selected four varied collections of casual wears for him that he will wear on his birthday. It was time for our shopping.

However, it was three p.m. in the afternoon, and we were hungry. Therefore, we decided to halt our shopping for a few minutes, as our plan was to have our midday meal first.

"Teri Meri, Meri Teri, Prem Kahani Hain Mushkil" we were sitting in the restaurant where my mobile began ringing.
It is Aditiya's call. I pressed the button on touchscreen and picked his call.
"Hey Naina your shopping is over." My mouth generally opened.
"What are you talking about?" I groaned and continued, "I'm with Aadhira." I falsified.
I did not say anything to Aditiya that we had planned shopping today.
"Don't lie, I know." I felt menace hearing his voice, as if he has plotted to tell Nihaal about our shopping thing.

"Whose call is it?" mom asked laying her knuckles under her chin and the elbow resting on the table. We were sitting on the chair for lunch.
I wrapped mobile with free hand, covering speaker and whispered towards mom, "Aditiya's call…" she quivered with fingers of her free hand and shook her head, "give me the phone? I will talk to him…"

"No, mom… you remember the surprise?" I whispered. She patted on her forehead and said, "I have already told Aditiya, he won't say anything to Nihaal…" she again quivered with her fingers and continued, "give me the phone? He knows I'm with you…" I spread out my mouth extensively.
"Mom but-" I paused as she interjected forcibly taking the phone from me by bending her head towards me.
"Let her talk…" Aadhira finally voiced irritably. She was sitting on the chair next to my left side, and mom was sitting in front. We were sitting on the table of four.

"Hello Aditiya…" I heard mom saying this on phone, but she glimpsed on me.

"No, don't worry. We already finished shopping…" she paused as if hearing what Aditiya was talking. Her expression drained.
"We are in the restaurant…" I watched mom when she was looking at her plastic plate and then continued, "Yeah for lunch…"

"No son let him stay there… I don't want to talk to him now…" her hand was jolting in the curving position in front of her plate and playing with fingers.

I started eating Hakka noodles with cutlery and spoon. Aadhira too began with her chores. Mom gave noiseless tireless grinning on the phone as if she heard something funny.

"Ofcourse son, we did shopping for you…" I stopped swallowing noodle. The cutlery was in still position, and my mouth broadly opened, a single noodle dangling towards my chin.

When did we do shopping for Aditiya? Mom lied. But why she has to do this? Ouch

"Ok bye, Take care. See you soon…" she smiled and ended her phone conversation. I could see a sigh of relief passing through her face.

"Mom when we did shopping for Aditiya?" I asked unfathomably staring in her pale chocolaty eyes. She shook her head.
"We will do now…" I saw desperation swirling on her face as she continued, "we forgot him… he is like my son too…"

She started eating rice and daal with a spoon that is what she ordered for the lunch.

"Mom… but you lied?" I felt restless when mom lied, and I thumped the spoon, cutlery on the plastic plate.

It is not that I do not lie. However, her lie really disturbed me, felt like she was somehow cheating with Aditiya's emotions, and I felt bad for him. It is true we forgot him, but mom could have told him that we would shop for him after lunch. Atleast, this will not hurt his sentiments, and this would not be lied either. Confused

She nodded and replied, "I didn't want to hurt him by saying that we forgot to do shopping for him." I felt displeasure in her words when she said that to me. I simply nodded, halting our conversation and continued with my eating process.

I saw Aadhira already finished eating noodles, maybe she was too quick, then I, or else I am slower than she is. Don't know which one is correct to express.

As Aadhira stood up from her chair to go in washroom, I saw mom looking at her backside, tightening her lips, making it thinner and giving a big smile by displaying her small pale yellow teeth. I felt unacquainted but then her pale chocolaty eye's encounter with my dark eyes.

She opened her mouth to speak, "I was talking to Aditiya, he told me about the surprise."

I mystifyingly stared at her, and my lip was not much open.
"Mom, what is the surprise?"
"Aditiya talked about Nihaal's surprise. He is planning to give you some surprise and told me to keep you away from the house until eight p.m." I eventually opened my mouth loosely.

"Aditiya said that?" she nodded. I felt intensity in my voice as I took his name, as if I was in collision and my eyes were wide.

I knew it Nihaal is planning some surprise for me that means he would come home before time. It is miraculous that he would come before eight p.m., and meantime it would be fun to hang out with mom and Aadhira. Embarrassed
"Wow!" I murmured.

"Does Nihaal knows about you, and I am together?" I interrogated. She shook her head.
"Then why Aditiya told you about surprise?" I impenetrably gawked showing my displeasure.
"Well no, Aditiya is helping Nihaal in his surprise…" I nodded as she continued in a reposeful mood by sitting straight on her chair and eating her rice daal, "my son has changed a lot. You have changed him…" I saw a flash of a smile at the corner of her lip.

Is she taunting or is she happy? Her blended reciprocation puzzled me.

Your comment please? Confused

CHAPTER SIX
_
_
_

"Waiting! STILL WAITING!" vehicles were still not moving and are simply irresistible.

I heard, "Teri Meri, Meri Teri, Prem Kahani Hain Mushkil" the song was coming from my handbag. I had set that as a ringtone.

I unzipped the bag and grabbed my mobile.

As I checked phone display, the first word that came from my mouth was,"Gosh!"

It is Aadhira's name showing on the display. I gulped and suddenly I felt the atmosphere changing into tension, the sweat that was wrestling my forehead to jump down towards the cheek and lip already turned dry.

I picked her call, "Hello!" All of a sudden, my hand started shaking and a very low voice popped from my mouth, as if my throat choked to respond quickly.

She is not a Hitler, but believe me, she can become like him anytime. She is very punctual about timings, but I am always the late-comer and she doesn't like that one bit.

"Idiot! Where the hell are you?" She screamed in such a way as if she was planning to jump inside the mobile speaker and punch my face for coming late. Moreover, hearing those words was not less than shocking for me.

"Wow!" I murmured.

No, Hello?

No, Hi?

Simply an insult was all she could shout?

What kind of a friend do I have? I thought she would ask me when I would reach. But, instead she's calling me an idiot.

I couldn't blame her, it wasn't her fault. I am an abnormal girl, anyway. Normally, people ask the exact same questions as Aadhira had asked me. However, I always want different questions that had answers, which were easier to well, Answer.

"I'm stuck in traffic." I replied slowly. I tried to distract my mind from all the roaring and horn sounds that was coming from outside.

"Are you taking a cab?" I nodded, even if she cannot see.
"Yes." I replied calmly. I stuck my index finger into my ear so that the loud noise could tone down and I don't get disturbed while talking to Aadhira.

"How long are you going to take?" her voice had a sign of peace.
"I'm still in Chembur. It will take time." I replied rolling my eyes outside the cab window.
The traffic was finally moving. I sighed looking outside the window.

"Aadhira, don't you worry. I will come soon." I excitedly assured her. My index finger was no longer inside my ear. I actually felt relieved when I saw the green signal on the traffic lights.

"Hm' I'll wait'" I could finally feel satisfaction in her voice.
It means no more lectures, hopefully. Atleast that is what I could feel at the end of our conversation.

The taxi man was looking like a middle age man and the way he was driving looked like he was half-dead. He was not putting any kind of pressure on the steering wheel while driving. I had to tell that man to drive faster as I was already late.
I checked my golden wristwatch, only to realize that it was eleven in the morning.

As the cab was finally moving in speed, the air was coming inside from the open window, slapping me on my face and my hair.

My once wet hair is now dry. I felt the smoothness of my hair as it bounced on my face.
The car eventually came to an abrupt stop and the sound of the brakes cracked in my ear. I was about to fall in front as I was leaning towards the window as to enjoy the outside view.

That driver looked at me, his grey, thin beard and little hair in front was visible and I noticed that he was giving me a serious look.

Asking for the money, I gave him one hundred and fifteen rupees, and opened the door to move out.

I was sweating all the time. This sweat was not because of any kind of tension. Its summer season and sun above my head already drained half of my energy. When I looked up, the sun was smiling at me, sending its rays upon my eyes. I could hardly open my eyes to see the clouds, which were fully blur for my eyes, until I moved my face downwards and looked straight ahead.

I crossed the road to reach the mall before any vehicle could pass my way. The mall was just opposite and visible even from afar. The sun followed me from up, I could sense it even if I was not looking up as my energy meter was fully down and sweat already doing roller-coaster loops on my face.

I saw Aadhira standing near the gateway and waiting for me on the staircase. She was wearing a black Patiala Salwar suit, along with the contrast of a sky-blue, long, silky scarf and net sleeves until her forearms. There was hand-made embroidery on her chest and at the end of her Kameez.

The fitting of the dress was tight on her waist and her big chest visible in front. She was looking good in this dress, even if she is bulky in size. She had tied her mahogany pale brown hair in ponytail style with a tendril blowing on her face.

"You are late!" she taunted but I ignored it by laughing.

"Yeah! Mumbai traffic, you know how it is'" I breathed loudly from my mouth and teased, blaming traffic for being late.

It is a very silly excuse. However, most of the Mumbaikars gives the same excuse everytime.

"Why are you sweating so much?" She asked in a shocking way. She was not sweating at all, maybe because she was standing near the staircase with the gate behind her back and the sun not being able to reach her.

I glanced up, pointing an index finger up on the cloudless sky, which was visible and the sun was front of my eyes.

"Where are we going now?" she asked confusingly looking at me.
"Inside the mall. Where else?" I laughed, tilting my head at the side, pulling my full-hair in the front towards the chest. I have the habit of playing with my hair.

"I know that'" she snapped, her voice suddenly turned serious and eyes strictly looked at me, without moving an inch. She continued, "I want to eat first."

My mouth broadly opened upon hearing her words. "You didn't have your breakfast?" she shook her head.

We both are food-lovers and mostly we love junk foods. We went inside the mall and I felt very refreshing air that passed through our way. For a moment, I felt relieved. Since air fills my small nostrils very quickly, I inhaled.

There was a bag checking at the entrance and we were standing in a line. As my number arrived, I showed my bag, there was nothing much then my comb, mobile, a pouch, my rosy-red lipstick, eyeliner, big brown sunglass and a small mirror.

Aadhira was standing behind me, her blue handbag was not much weighted and had only her mobile, pouch and some white colored papers which could've been some important document related to her office work.

As the checking session was done, we walked towards McDonalds. It was on the ground floor, just at the corner of the left-side wall. As we entered inside, the whole room was fully air-conditioned.
The feel of coldness started rising on my body. I wrapped my hands and rubbed my arms to make me feel warmed. However, my palms were cold too. Aadhira and I sat at the table of two. The red table grey chair.

She went to give order and I was sitting on the chair, taking care of her seat, so that no one else should take the chair.

I was very hungry, even though I had breakfast in the morning, but due to my low energy levels, I felt like frogs were in my stomach, jumping around mercilessly. Feeling uneasy, I caressed stomach in starvation.

A few minutes later, Aadhira brought one big plate in which two vegetable burgers, one coke, one French fries and a big spicy chicken wrap was placed.

As soon as I saw the burger in Aadhira's big plate, my hands simply jumped to take one burger. We started eating this together, on the same big plate that she had brought.

I chewed the delicious burger whilst Aadhira was busy taking a sip of coke but her eyes were on me. Frogs in my stomach were enjoying every single bite that passed down from my mouth. Now they were not jumping or making sounds and my stomach felt relief from that entire striving thing.

"So'" she took a sip of coke again and started eating chicken wrap, "Tell me the reason." her voice in between was pausing while eating and taking a sip of coke.

"What?" I surprisingly looked in front, towards her. I was still taking a bite out of the burger.

"Why are you blushing?" She asked. My mouth opened broadly. Her face had a question mark, but there was an excitement as well.

Was I blushing? I did not even realize. I was so busily eating that I had no idea that I was blushing.

"Why would I do that?" I said by hiding my facial expression and giving her a blank look.

"Because you were thinking something, when you were eating and all of sudden I saw you blushing, smiling." She said by staring confusingly. Her big lip stretched to smile and her front big white teeth was visible.

That was too much. I did not think she was noticing me. However, I felt surprise too. But didn't knew I was blushing.

"Actually, I was thinking about Nihaal." I replied shyly.
"Hm' What's the good news?" she bend her neck slightly and pointed her index finger towards my stomach, while taking a sip of coke.
Following her finger, I placed a hand on my flat stomach and I realised what good news she was talking about.

I laughed, "No, it's not about that."
"Then?" she asked casually.
"Nihaal said he will come home early. I was thinking that, maybe that's why." I paused and blushed again.

"Oh! So today is your romance day?" she teased, showing her big white teeth's and smiling.

Thinking about romance, goosebumps traveled unto my arms. It is not that we are romancing after many days. But today in the morning I felt something different. It was the first time when he himself asked me that he should come early today or not. Maybe because he knew I was angry at him that he had forgotten about my today's holiday and that is why he wants to please me.

I am just hoping I would get a surprise at night. May be a romantic date, once again?

Oh God! She is teasing me. It is so embarrassing being tease by my very own best friend.

"I don't know much about romance, but I am hoping I'll get a surprise today'" I blinked and responded excitedly.
"Hm' Good. Do tell me tomorrow what surprise he gave you." She said by laughing. I nodded blushing.

When we finished eating and drinking, we moved out of the McDonalds. A huge building in front of my eyes consists of atleast eight floors. It is the City Plaza mall. We walked up on the first floor through escalator stairs. We were simply walking towards every store and it was like a window-shopping to me. But, there was nothing I could buy from those stores.

"Teri Meri, Meri Teri, Prem Kahani Hain Mushkil" My mobile ringtone rang again. This time my mobile was in my hand. I checked the mobile display and it was mom's number.

She's Nihaal's mom. Revati Naik, my mother-in-law, but I call her mom. She does not stay with us.

"Hello Mom!" I casually started conversation.
"Hello Naina. I have come to the mall. Where are you?" I felt desperation in her thick Indian accented voice as if she is searching us everywhere.
"Mom, we are on first floor." I still casually replied.
"Ok wait there. I'm coming." She ended the call but there was no excitement in her voice, just a hurried speech.

My eyes were on the escalator stairs as I saw her coming up. I felt a sudden thrill to meet her. She was in her charcoal cotton saree that had leafy designs printed everywhere on the saree.

"Mom!" I excitedly hugged her wrapping her neck softly, jumping on my low heel sandal that was making clicking sounds on the tile floor.

 She pats on my back.

"How are you, Naina?" she smiled, showing her small pale yellow teeth.
"Look at me'" I said by moving my hand from up to down towards my dress and excitedly continued, "What do you think mom? How am I?"

She laughed caressing my cheek, "You look beautiful." She complimented dreamily.

"Thank you, mom." I bowed in front of her by placing my hand above my chest.

"You too look beautiful." I complimented back.

However, honestly she is beautiful.

She is now fifty-eight years old but if you look at her, she still looks like forty year old woman. She has maintained herself very well. Her body structure is still the same as she was before.

She has a soft wheatish skin and perfect small round face, pale chocolaty eyes, perfect small thin nose, lips and dark bun style hair. Most important, she is taller than I am.

"Did you tell him I'm here with you?" Mom asked in an interrogative way.
"No, mom. He doesn't even know that I'm in a shopping mall." I replied casually.

Mom looked at me in surprise, as if she did not expect me to hide this from Nihaal.

"Why didn't you tell him you are here with us?" She glared.
"Mom could you just relax?" I looked into her eyes, when I saw her calm I continued, "If I tell him, I am here then he would have asked about the reason'" she nodded.

"Oh yes! I didn't think that'" she rubbed her temples and continued talking, "We are giving him surprise'" She said smiling and patting on her forehead. I nodded.

Finally I'm feeling relived. Party

This chapter was most tough part to write for me, due to lot of emotions I mentioned in this chapter.
Embarrassed

So you liked this chapter? Isn't this better than earlier chapter?
